The Historical Society Oranje-Nassau is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. To commemorate this milestone, a design competition was organized among ArtEZ University of the Arts students in Enschede.
Two students visited the Saxion FabLab Enschede to add a new digital effect to their handmade ceramic vase through 3D printing. They collaborated with two student assistants from the Saxion FabLab Enschede. Surprisingly, their design turned out to be the winning entry, and on May 26th, it was presented to King Willem-Alexander of Oranje-Nassau!
We are extremely proud of this wonderful collaboration and the beautiful result. Special thanks to Jorik Ordelmans, Herjo Van Triest, and Daniil Bondarenko for their dedication and assistance in creating the vase on the 3D printer.
It’s also worth mentioning that members of the Oranje-Nassau Society have the opportunity to order a 3D printed mini-replica of the vase. These replicas will be produced in the Saxion FabLab in the coming weeks. See the ArtEZ article for more information.
